Ducati Writing Machines: Pens of Pure Design
The Ducati pen collection expresses the Ducati
personality and draws inspiration from historic models
built by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer. Nothing is left to chance. Like in
production motorcycle manufacturing where every part and component is carefully
designed down to the smallest single detail, the Ducati pen has been engineered
for high performance and gorgeous style.
A pen as unique as the classic Ducati models
of the �60s and �70s that inspire it. The first thing to notice is weight:
exquisite metal details and the polished aluminium cap make the Ducati a
well-balanced pen, pleasant to hold, but with a �weight� that signals quality.
A design faithful to the
models that inspired it. The
right side of the cap has a chromed cheek with the
typical finish of the petrol tanks of the era and
bears one of the best-known Ducati logos, the Scrambler eagle. While the band
on the cap recalls headlight covers of the time.
The pen�s foldaway clip, whose lines recall
the drilled disk of brakes, preserves a particularly linear design, while also
guaranteeing efficiency and precision in its function. A
simple and particularly effective solution. The engine is an
inspirational element for other components of the pen: the grip above the nib
mimics the design of the intake bell and, in all models, the band under the
bell becomes a decorative element between the shaft and barrel end.
Every pen is lacquered and marked by a
coloured band that runs along the centre line, typical of the petrol tanks of
the motorcycles of the period, like the Scrambler and the GT; black for the
yellow pen and burgundy for the orange pen � reminiscent of a much-loved
motorcycle, the Spaggiari. In the ballpoint model,
the rotation opening moves the band precisely 180�, creating an asymmetry that is particularly
interesting in the design.
Ducati pens can also be matt black or metallic
silver: an unusual and pleasant-to-hold textured finish.
There is also a version with coloured cap and
matt black barrel (with band matching the colour of cap for the yellow and
orange models). For all the models (fountain-pen, ballpoint, roller and pencil)
the vintage-style packaging completes the presentation of a writing instrument

Inspired by the tanks of the most legendary vintage
bikes, the central leather band, enhanced by the metal plate with the famous �60s
Scrambler eagle wing logo, is the recurring theme of an original line of accessories.
Designed to satisfy the tastes of the most demanding enthusiast, the selection
includes: two models of pen-holders, single or multiple with removable interior
for holding eyeglasses; three types of key-holders, one of which in the shape
of a tank for holding coins, small remote controls and other small objects; an
attractive money-clip with magnetic closing; a very handy credit card holder;
two wallet models featuring innovative characteristics; a motorcycle document
holder provided with note-pad and pen slot; a wristband with concealed zip for
holding bank-notes, coins and small objects, ideal for riding, seaside
activities and leisure time, and lastly, a carry bag.
The leather used (exclusively of Italian provenance)
is barrel-dyed full-grain calfskin with a doeskin-effect, and features a soft,
natural fine grain middle strip (available in orange, yellow and black). The edges
of the Ducati accessories are always clean cut, and, where technically
possible, wax dyed and brush polished. The manufacture is entirely artisanal
and exclusive.
